Pole for Daryanani But Race 3 Chaos Undermines Zandvoort Momentum

GB3 Media Pool

The GB3 Championship returned to the dunes of Zandvoort with an action-packed weekend, where Indian driver Kai Daryanani emerged as a front-running threat — only for a dramatic Race 3 to end in disappointment.

Daryanani, representing JHR Developments, started solidly with P6 in Q1 and finished P9 in Race 1. A P14 in Race 2 followed, but his real statement came in Q3, where he took an incredible pole position. Unfortunately, his momentum was undone by a DNF in Race 3, costing him valuable points in what could’ve been a breakout result.

Fellow Indian driver Divy Nandan, also racing for JHR Developments, showed steady improvement across the event. Starting with P18 in both Q1 and Race 1, he made progress in Race 2 with a P17 and capped off the weekend with a P14 finish in Race 3.

Elsewhere, the Philippines’ Bianca Bustamante struggled to find rhythm across the weekend, with finishes of P17, P19, and a P13 in Race 3. Teammate Flynn Jackes also found the going tough, finishing P16 and P18 before a DNF in Race 3.

China’s Yuanpu Cui showed consistency with a double P6 finish in Races 1 and 2, after qualifying P7 and P6. However, his own Race 3 came to an abrupt end with a DNF, echoing the fate of other frontrunners.

Eurocup 3

Red Bull Junior Enzo Tarnvanichkul gets off to a rough start at round 1 of  Eurocup 3 series hoping for a stronger round 2

Enzo Tarnvanichkul showed potential in the 2025 Eurocup-3 season with Campos Racing, starting 6th in Qualifying at the Red Bull Ring and finishing 9th in Race 1. He maintained a solid pace but faced a setback in Race 2, dropping from 7th to 15th due to a 10-second track limits penalty, hoping to improve at Portimao for Round 2.

China’s Xie Huifei was the undisputed standout of the event, taking a commanding P1 and securing a full 60 points in the OK-N Junior category for Team Driver Racing Kart. His flawless performance underlined his growing status as one of China’s most promising young drivers.

Thailand’s Zvarich Marat also competed in the same category, finishing P16 and picking up a solitary point.

In the MINI Under-10 class, fellow Thai racer Warakitsupachok Phawin secured a strong P8 finish, earning 9 points. Indonesia’s Fadhl Abbas followed in P14 with 2 points, while the Philippines’ Matteo Milson placed P24 — all clocking for the Babyrace Driver Academy. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Max Zvarich, representing Kali Kart Racing, crossed the line in P16.

Thailand was also represented in the MINI GR3 class by Sutumno Peerapongpan (P25), while China’s Linghan Li ended the weekend in P29 — both narrowly missing out on points but showing promise in one of the most competitive junior karting categories globally.

A tough outing for Ajith Kumar in Zandvoort

It was a challenging weekend for Ajith Kumar at Zandvoort in the GT4 European Series. Taking on the Dutch circuit solo in the #28 Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 RS, he struggled to find pace early on, finishing P41 in Q1 and not setting a laptime in Q2. He managed to bring the car home in P35 in Race 1, but Race 2 ended prematurely after a lock-up and crash with 43 minutes remaining, leaving him unclassified. A weekend to forget, but one that adds to the learning curve in Europe’s competitive GT4 field.

Katsuta holds on for P5 in Portugal despite late scare

@takamotokatsuta

Takamoto Katsuta secured a fifth-place finish at Rally Portugal, capping off a weekend that tested both pace and patience. The Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 driver showed flashes of speed early on, but struggled to maintain momentum as the rally progressed, gradually slipping down the order. A late spin just before the final Power Stage nearly jeopardized his result, but Katsuta recovered well to bring the car home safely. While not the finish he had hoped for, it was a valuable haul of points and a reminder of his ability to stay composed under pressure.
