Brown & Riegel Shine on Debut, Leong & Denning Take Control of PRO Title Fight in Shanghai

Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia delivered back-to-back thrillers in Round 2 at the Shanghai International Circuit, with debutants and title contenders stealing the show.

Brown & Riegel Shine on Debut, Leong & Denning Take Control of PRO Title Fight in Shanghai

Leipert Motorsport’s PRO duo Ethan Brown and Jacob Riegel made an immediate impact on their debut, claiming an emphatic Race 1 victory with a margin of 3.9 seconds at the Shanghai International Circuit. SJM Theodore Racing’s Charles Leong and Alex Denning fought back from an early incident to finish second in Race 1, before taking overall victory in Race 2 for DW Evans GT, solidifying their position in the 2025 PRO championship fight.

Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Peter Li Zhicong and Lee Jungwoo rounded out the PRO podium in Race 1, and went one better in Race 2 with a strong second-place finish. They were followed by BC Racing’s Gavin Huang and Jonathan Cecotto in third.

Climax Racing’s Huang Kuisheng and Han Huilin took the AM class win in Race 1, narrowly missing out on an overall podium in fourth. In Race 2, it was Thailand’s Suttiluck Buncharoen of True Vision Motorsport who claimed a sensational AM win, finishing in the overall top 7. Huang and Huilin took second in class, ahead of Indonesia’s Umar Abdullah and Dypo Fitramadhan for Delta Garage Racing Team by Absolute Racing.

PRO-AM honours in Race 1 went to LK Motorsport by Climax Racing’s Liu Kai Shun and Cao Qikuan, while Race 2 was won by SQDA-GRIT Motorsport’s Lee Changwoo and Liang Jiatong after an impressive charge. Liu and Cao secured another podium with second in class, followed by teammates Lu Zhiwei and Ling Kang.

In the fiercely contested Lamborghini Cup category, Siamgas Corse’s Supachai Weeraborwornpong extended his streak with a third straight victory in Race 1. However, Race 2 saw Gerald Goh of Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph take the class win after a late-race move, narrowly beating Supachai and pole-sitter Kumar Prabakaran of Batmobile Racing.
