It was another clean sweep by Rizqy Motorsport’s Daffa Budiharjo, who dominated the second round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge in Indonesia, which was held at Sepang International Circuit, Selangor, Malaysia. The youngster was joined by compatriot and Pro classmen David Djaja and China’s Hu Bo at the overall podium. The race was quite eventful at the beginning.

Budiharjo had a perfect launch as the lights went out and quickly rocketed his way ahead of the competition. Unlike the incident-free Race 1, Race 2 had a massive shunt during its opening phase. Engine Plus Motorsport’s Luckas Dwinanda tagged the No. 11 car of Hendrik Jaya Soewatdy and sent the latter into the barriers, and debris flew across the track. The race directors immediately halted the field’s pace by sending the safety and medical cars to rescue Soewatdy’s stranded car in the middle of the track.

The race directors marked Dwinanda for an investigation for his role in Soewatdy’s crash. After the safety car restart, Budiharjo launched himself ahead of Djaja and the competition once more, but the broadcast camera was focused on the battle for the final overall podium spot. Bo battled EKS Motorsport’s Yuey Tan over the closing stages of the race. Tan, at some turns, seems to have the momentum to seal the spot, but Bo had enough pace to close the position and sealed the overall third. Budiharjo had a gap of 7.3 seconds separating him from Djaja.

Finishing third overall meant Bo took the victory of the Pro-Am class with Tan in second. Todd Kingsford, the sole GT4 runner was classified as the winner of the GT4 class.
