Kamui Kobayashi showcased exceptional racecraft in the opening hours at Daytona, charging from 8th on the grid in the No. 40 Cadillac of Wayne Taylor Racing.

After executing precise overtakes on Kevin Estre's No.6 Porsche and Felipe Drugovich's No.31 Cadillac, he firmly established himself as a frontrunner.

A particularly bold move on Colin Braun's No.60 Acura at Turn 1 resulted in minor contact.

Unfortunately, the team's promising run ended abruptly when their Cadillac was caught in a multi-car incident on Lap 245.

2. Kaku Ohta - Meyer Shank Racing (#93)

The No. 93 Acura of Meyer Shank Racing showed early promise, with Nick Yelloly running strong in second position during the opening hours.

Kaku Ohta briefly led the race during his stint, but an ill-timed yellow flag disrupted their strategy, relegating them to the back of the GTP field.

Their challenges compounded when Alex Palou suffered a left-rear mechanical failure, leaving the car stranded near the banking.

Although the team managed to rejoin the race, the significant time loss proved unbeatable.

They eventually finished 8th in class, 40 laps behind the winning No.7 Porsche Penske.

3. Kei Cozzolino - AF Corse (#21)

Kei Cozzolino’s AF Corse No.21 Ferrari faced several setbacks throughout the race.

The team received a penalty for a pit stop violation, along with the No.77 Porsche and  No.44 Aston Martin.

During Hour 19, A. Pier Guidi misjudged a restart and took a turn too quickly, resulting in contact with several GTD cars.

Ultimately, the No.21 Ferrari retired from the race around the 20-hour mark, completing 555 laps.
