Deligny’s Breakthrough Win, Nakamura on the Podium, and Kato’s Rookie Triumph in Season Finale

The 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) kicked off in Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, with thrilling action overall.


1. Kanato Le

Kanato Le maintained his consistent form for ART Grand Prix, finishing P5 in both Race 1 and Race 3. After securing consecutive P4 finishes in Round 4, he remained competitive, engaging in a hard-fought battle with Rashid Al Dhaheri in the opening race.

2. Enzo Deligny

Enzo Deligny secured his first win of the season in Race 2, capitalizing on Enzo Rivera’s penalty and executing well-timed overtakes to take the checkered flag. However, his weekend ended on a disappointing note, as poor tire management in Race 3 saw him drop from P4 to P16.

3. Akshay Bohra

Akshay Bohra endured a difficult weekend, struggling to replicate his Race 2 victory from Round 4. The Indian driver finished P13 in Race 1 before an off-track excursion in Race 2 saw him settle for P14. A P17 finish in the final race capped off a frustrating round.

4. Gao Yujia

Making his season debut for Origine Motorsport, Gao Yujia replaced Ruiqi Liu and had a quiet weekend, finishing P17, P18, and P18 across the three races.

4. Alex Sawer & Wang Zhongwei

Hoang Dat Sawer showed signs of progress, achieving his best result of the season with a P12 finish in Race 2 before rounding off the weekend with P21 in Race 3.

Meanwhile, Wang Zhongwei struggled for pace, with a best finish of P19 in Race 2, and was unable to make a significant impact throughout the weekend.

5. Jin Nakamura

Jin Nakamura took his second podium of the campaign with a third-place finish in Race 1. After struggling with qualifying in Round 4, the R-ace GP driver showed significant improvement this time around. However, a costly spin in Race 2 relegated him to P21. He recovered well in the final race, securing a solid P7.

6. Taito Kato

Taito Kato claimed his first rookie victory of the season in Race 1, finishing P12 overall. The ART Grand Prix driver had shown flashes of speed in Round 4, particularly with a P6 in Race 3, and finally converted that pace into a class win. He followed up with a P6 in Race 2 before concluding his weekend in P12.

8. Hiyu Yamakoshi

Hiyu Yamakoshi once again demonstrated his ability to fight through the field. After an early front-wing change in Race 1 dropped him to P24, the Pinnacle Motorsport rookie stormed back to finish P10. He was poised for a strong result in Race 2 but retired due to mechanical issues while running P5. Yamakoshi bounced back in Race 3 with another P10 to close his campaign on a positive note.
