Nakamura Takes First Win, Le and Kato Battle Through obstacles, Hiyu struggles on his first outing in an eventful weekend
The 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) kicked off in Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, with thrilling action overall.
1. Kanato Le

Kanato Le had a mixed outing in Dubai. He started strong with a P6 finish in Race 1 after an intense midfield battle but struggled in Race 2, dropping from P5 to P10. His weekend ended early in Race 3 after a Lap 2 collision forced him to retire.
2. Enzo Deligny

Enzo Deligny delivered a consistent performance, finishing P8 in both Race 1 and Race 2. His best result came in Race 3, where he climbed to P4 with well-executed overtakes.
3. Akshay Bohra

Akshay Bohra had an up-and-down weekend, starting with a P11 finish in Race 1. He delivered his best result of the season with a strong P6 in Race 2 but ended the weekend on a disappointing note with a P18 finish in Race 3.
4. Aditya Kulkarni

Aditya Kulkarni endured another challenging round, finishing P17 in Race 1 and P15 in both Race 2 and Race 3.
4. Alex Sawer

Vietnamese driver Hoang Dat (Alex) Sawer made his debut with Evans GP mid-season. He finished P20 in Race 1, P26 in Race 2, and P20 again in Race 3.
5. Jin Nakamura

It was a strong weekend for Jin Nakamura, who fended off a late challenge from Freddie Slater to win Race 2 in a tightly contested battle. The Toyota junior started from pole and defended well under pressure, securing his first victory of the season. He finished P10 in Race 1 and P12 in Race 3.
6. Ruiqi Liu & Wang Zhongwei

Origine Motorsport’s Ruiqi Liu and Wang Zhongwei had a quiet weekend, with Liu securing the team’s only point in Dubai thanks to his P11 finish in Race 2.
7. Taito Kato

Taito Kato showed a promising pace in qualifying and fought hard in Race 1 to finish P9. Race 2 proved to be more difficult, as he slipped to P12 after starting from the second row. He wrapped up the weekend with a P10 finish in Race 3.
8. Hiyu Yamakoshi

Asian representation at Pinnacle Motorsport expanded mid-season with the arrival of Japanese driver Hiyu Yamakoshi. His weekend started on a difficult note with a Race 1 collision involving teammate Rivera, followed by a P19 finish in Race 2. However, he showed improvement in Race 3, securing P8.
9. Cui Yuanpu

Cui Yuanpu also made his 2025 debut with Pinnacle Motorsport. The Chinese driver had a steady but challenging weekend, finishing P15 in Race 1, P21 in Race 2, and P17 in Race 3.
