Asian Karters at the Champions of the Future

Champions of the Future is a karting championship based on the FIA Karting regulations promoted by RGMMC. For the first round in Campillos, 8 Asian drivers entered the championship: Wen Yubo, Nathan Kappen, Anzhe Sun, Sara Matsui, Endo Arata, Jagrat Detroja, Hou Zai Jiang, and Qarrar Firhand

Wen Yubo showed flashes of pace in Campillos but fell short of making the final. The Chinese driver finished 39th overall in the OK Junior qualifying heats, placing him in Super Heat 1. Despite his best efforts, he could not improve his position, finishing 39th again in the super heat and missing out on the finals.

Nathan Kappen endured a tough weekend in the OK Junior category. After finishing 70th overall in the qualifying heats, he was placed in Super Heat 2. However, his struggles continued, as he finished 72nd and failed to progress to the finals.

Anzhe Sun faced an uphill battle in the OK category, with a challenging run in the qualifying heats leaving him 78th overall. With no opportunity to race in the super heats, his weekend came to an early end.

Sara Matsui also had a difficult outing in Campillos. The Japanese driver ended the qualifying heats in 66th place, placing her in Super Heat 2. Unfortunately, she could only manage P67 in the race, bringing her weekend to a premature conclusion.

Hou Zai Jiang delivered a consistent performance at the recent karting event, showcasing good pace throughout the race weekend despite facing some unlucky moments. In qualifying, he secured P16 in his group, placing him P32 overall. Across the heats, Jiang maintained steady form, finishing P14 in the first, P12 in the second, and P14 in the third. His strong showing continued in the Superheat with a P12 result, earning him a P23 starting position for the final. Battling through the field, Jiang crossed the line in P18 in the final, a solid recovery given the challenges. With momentum building, he now sets his sights on the upcoming Champions of the Future round in Campillos.

Qarrar Firhand kicked off his OK category campaign at the first round of the Champions of the Future series in Campillos. Displaying promising pace, he posted the 8th fastest time in his qualifying session. Throughout the heats, Qarrar showcased his potential, battling for top-10 finishes and laying a strong foundation for the season ahead.

Jagrat Detroja competed in the first round of the Champions of the Future series in Campillos, marking his entry into the event. In qualifying, he recorded P27 with a time of 1'02"652 in one session and P80 with the same time in another, reflecting a challenging start. Across the heats, Jagrat finished 6th in the A-F grouping but ultimately did not qualify for the finals, ending his weekend early despite showing effort in the competitive field.

Endo Arata took part in the first round of the Champions of the Future series in Campillos. In qualifying, he posted a time of 1'06"615 in both sessions, placing him in the field for the heats. In the A-B heat grouping, Endo finished 19th, reflecting a tough outing that prevented him from advancing to the finals, though he gained valuable experience in the competitive event.
