Asian drivers in round one of the GB3 Championship show strong points-finishing results for most in Silverstone.

Kai Daryanani 

Kai had a strong pace throughout the weekend. After Qualifying 7th in Quali 1, he placed 9th in Race 1. In Race 2, Kai finished 15th after facing a 5 second penalty due to changing directions multiple times while defending a position. Kai Qualified 9th in Quali 2 and made a strong recovery to 4th place and a penalty received by Keanu Al Azhari promoted him to a podium finish.

Kanato Le

Kanato Le Qualified 9th and 14th in Qualifying 1 and 2 respectively. Le maintained a strong and consistent pace. After dropping down to 13th in Race 1, Kanato finished 9th in Race 2 and 8th in Race 3, showcasing improvement through the race session.

Yuanpu Cui

Cui had a difficult weekend after Qualifying 17th in Quali 1, but was able to gain a place in Quali 2. However, his race pace was much more improved. In spite of a disappointing finish at 20th in Race 1, Cui gradually improved to 12th in Race 2 and eventually was able to secure 10th position and hence a top 10 finish for Race 3.

Dion Gowda

Dion’s weekend began smoothly, after Qualifying 10th in Quali 1 and 2. He was able to hold position for Race 1 and finished 10th. However, Dion received a 3 place penalty and hence was classified as DNF for causing a collision with Keanu Al Azhari. Gowda DNF’d in Race 3 as well.

Hiyu Yamakoshi

Hiyu Yamakoshi had strong showings in Qualifying, placing 8th and 4th in Qualifying 1 and Qualifying 2, respectively. He had strong pace throughout the session and finished 12th and 10th for Race 1 and Race 2. Yamakoshi’s best result was placing 5th in Race 3, a 5 second penalty received by Keanu Al Azhari and promoted him to a P4 finish. This came after Hiyu received a 5 second penalty for failing to adhere by a yellow flag which relegated his starting position before Race 2 to 12th.

Divy Nandan

Divy Qualified 24th and 25th for Qualifying 1 and 2 respectively. He maintained position in Race 1 but showed significant improvement in Race 2, placing 17th. Divy finished the weekend with a 18th place finish, gaining positions.

Bianca Bustamante

Bianca Bustamante had a relatively difficult weekend. After Qualifying 22nd in both sessions, Bustamante received a DNS classification for the first race. She was able to maintain a consistent pace in Race 2 and Race 3 while finishing 20th and 19th, respectively.

ENZO TARNVANICHKUL

Enzo Tarnvanichkul Qualified 21st and 20th for Qualifying 1 and 2 respectively. While Race 1 saw him holding a steady position and finishing at 19th, the red bull junior driver consistently gained momentum in Race 2 with a 14th place finish and wrapped up the weekend in 12th position for Race 3.
