Introduced in 2014, the Asia Talent Cup is a Dorna-run championship providing a crucial platform alongside the Asian rounds of the MotoGP to identify and graduate young talent. The 2025 features 6 rounds, all but 1 support MotoGP and its 2 junior feeder series.

Running alongside the MotoGP season opener at Chang International Circuit this weekend, the Asia Talent Cup saw Ryota Ogiwara shine on both days of racing, picking up both race wins. Ogiwara kept fellow Japanese rider Seiryu Ikegami just 0.05s behind him to take the win on Saturday and continued to duel Ikegami into Sunday, only 0.022s covering the both.

Noprutpong Bunprawes came home in 3rd place on Saturday, 2 seconds behind the Japanese duo. And rookie rider Haruki Matsuyama bagged a debut podium in P3 finishing just 0.133s from the win on Sunday.
