As it happened: Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship and the MMSC Sprint Rally

The 2023 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship

The 2023 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship began with the first race of the season at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Rajiv Sethu had a great start in the top-tier Pro-Stock 301-400cc category, winning both races during the weekend. Mathana Kumar and Vignesh Goud were also successful, winning two races each.

Rajiv Sethu and Mathana Kumar emerged as winners in the Pro-Stock categories. Kavin Quintal showed impressive performance by dominating the Honda Talent Cup races. Alwin Sundar achieved a remarkable feat by winning both races in the TVS One-Make Championship.

Girls Stock 165cc

Lani Fernandez, a promising rider from Puducherry, started from the fifth position and rode exceptionally well to win the race comfortably. She quickly made her way through the top half of the field and secured the lead, maintaining it until the end. Ann Jennifer, who started from pole position, finished second, while Jagathishree Kumaresan from One Racing claimed third place.

Honda India Talent Cup

Kavin Quintal, who is participating in the Asia Road Racing Championship for Honda, had a strong performance in the two NSF 250 races. He dominated both races, winning by a significant margin. Rakshith S Dave also had a podium presence, securing third place in Race 1 and second place in Race 2.

TVS One-Make Championship

In the TVS One-Make Championship, Alwin Sundar emerged victorious in the Open category while Copperam Hareesh Shreyas achieved double wins in the Rookie category. Nithila Das, one of the youngest participants, emerged as the winner in the Girls category.

MMSC Two-Wheeler Sprint Rally Series

In the 2023 MMSC Two-Wheeler Sprint Rally Series, riders from Karnataka led with a haul of six, but Bengaluru's Sachin D topped himself with glory by winning crowns in two categories. Sachin won two races and stood on the podium twice in the Open (Up to 750cc) category, just like he did in the Group B (Up to 260cc) races. He won all four rounds held over two consecutive weekends.

Rakshit S. Dave of Chennai clinched the Teenagers Class title, despite placing fourth in the final round, which was won by Shreyas Hareesh of Bengaluru. Rakshit finished ahead of Shreyas with 70 points to 68.

Rehana Bee, a former national racing champion from Chennai, won the women's division by winning all four rounds.

Asad Khan from Chikmagaluru (Group D, up to 260cc) and Abrar Pasha from Shivamogga (Group B, up to 165cc) both triumphed in all four rounds to win the title in their respective groups.

In the Royal Enfield category, Naresh VS of Bengaluru won the series championship.

Over the weekend, Bengaluru's Suhail Ahmed won two rounds in the Group A (up to 750cc) class to claim the victory, while Akhand Pratap Singh of Uttarkhand won all four of his races to claim the Group B (up to 400cc) championship.

Group D (260cc): Asad Khan (Chikmgaluru)

Royal Enfield: Naresh VS (Bengaluru).

Teenagers: Rakshit S Dave (Chennai).

Women: Rehana Bee (Chennai).
