Abu Dhabi, UAE: Formula Regional Middle East Championship

The 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) kicked off with thrilling action, featuring some of the best rookies in not only Asian, but global motorsports.

Taito Kato starts with a podium finish, Jin maintaining his consistency in Round 2 of FRMEC

The 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) kicked off in Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, with thrilling action overall.


1. Kanato Le

Kanato Le experienced a challenging Round 2, contrasting his stellar Round 1 victory. He finished outside the points in Race 1 but showed improvement with a P9 finish in Race 2. Le’s best result came in Race 3, where he finished P7

2. Enzo Deligny

Enzo Deligny had a mixed run this time around as he struggled in Races 1 and 2, finishing P12 and P11 respectively, just within the points. However, he made the most of Ugochukwu’s retirement in Race 3, securing another podium by finishing P3.

3. Akshay Bohra

Akshay Bohra showcased a solid recovery in Round 2 after a difficult opening round marked by retirements. Struggling with car setup issues in Race 1, he managed to finish P16. His performance improved with a P14 finish in Race 2, and he bagged his first points of the season in Race 3 with a commendable P10 finish.

4. Aditya Kulkarni

Aditya Kulkarni started with a tangle in Race 1 that forced him to drop to the back of the field, finishing P24. He showed some recovery in Race 2, finishing P15, and ended Race 3 in P16, wrapping up a tough outing at Round 2.

4. Jaden Pariat

Jaden Pariat continued to chase his first points in the championship. He ended Race 1 in P19 and Race 2 in P20 but was unable to complete Race 3, retiring on the second lap following an unfortunate shunt.

5. Jin Nakamura

Jin Nakamura continued his run of consistent results, building on his solid performances from Round 1. He finished P6 in Race 1 and overcame an intense battle with teammate Ugochukwu in Race 2 to claim P8. In the final race, Nakamura secured another points finish with P9.

6. Ruiqi Liu

Liu’s scored the last point this weekend with a P12 finish in Race 3. He finished in P14 and P17 in races 1 and 2 respectively.

7. Taito Kato

Taito Kato made a strong start, securing a P3 finish in Race 1. However, Race 2 proved challenging after a broken front wing early in the race which dropped him to P22. In Race 3, a second-lap collision with Freddie Slater saw Kato finish in P18.

8. Wang Zhongwei

Wang Zhongwei’s had a lacklustre weekend with a P25-P21-P20 finish in race 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
