Abu Dhabi, UAE: F4 Middle East Championship

The newly rebranded F4 Middle East Championship (F4MEC) continued its action at the Yas Marina Circuit, featuring a highly competitive grid with a strong contingent of Asian talent. With two qualifying sessions and three races, the weekend provided thrilling battles and standout performances.

F4 Middle East Championship

The inaugural season commenced in Yas Marina circuit, on 18 January, featuring strong performances from top-seeded and upcoming Asian drivers:


1. Kean Nakamura-Berta

The second round of the F4 Middle East Championship unfolded at the Yas Marina Circuit, with Kean Nakamura-Berta continuing to impress through another stellar performance for the Mumbai Falcons. In Race 1, he narrowly missed out on P2 by just 0.015 seconds to teammate Tomass Stolcermanis. Despite starting P2 in Race 2, Nakamura dropped down the field but fought hard to claim P5. He kept himself firmly in the championship hunt with a P2 finish in Race 3.

2. Chi Zhenrui

Chi Zhenrui secured valuable points during Round 2. In Race 1, he finished P11, improved to P10 in Race 2, and then achieved P9 in Race 3, his best result of the round.

3. Tiago Rodrigues 

Tiago Rodrigues faced another challenging outing, retiring towards the end of Race 1. A slight improvement in Race 2 saw him finish P19, but unfortunately, he ended on a disappointing note in Race 3, retiring after completing only six laps.

4. Arjun Chheda 

India’s Arjun Chheda endured another mixed performance. The Mumbai Falcons driver started with a P21 finish in Race 1 and struggled to make significant gains in Race 2, where he ended P22. However, he achieved his first points finish of the season in Race 3, finishing P12.

5. Yuta Suzuki 

Yuta Suzuki's campaign was cut short in Race 1 after crashing into the barriers at the hotel section. In Race 2, he managed a P21 finish but struggled to find pace. The Japanese driver concluded Round 2 with a P19 finish in Race 3.

6. Wang Yuzhe

Wang Yuzhe found it difficult to break into the points during Round 2. He finished P19 in Race 1, followed by P23 in Race 2. In Race 3, he crossed the line in P21.

7. Fu Yuhao

Xcel Motorsport’s Fu Yuhao displayed steady progress across the races. He started with a P16 finish in Race 1, repeated the result in Race 2, and delivered his best performance of Round 2 in Race 3, finishing P14.

8. Kyuho Lee

Korean driver Kyuho Lee began with a P17 finish in Race 1 and improved slightly in Race 2, securing P15. However, Race 3 proved to be a tough outing, as he was forced to retire following an incident.
